Clothing for Young Adults & Children

Marjorie's Hope operates a "Clothing Closet" for school age children between the Back to School Backpack seasons. To date, the closet has been operated out of Debi's garage and all clothing items are given to: Teachers, Social Workers, School Resource Officer's (SRO's) and occasionally a private individual who has been recommended by a school administrator.
Our goal and future vision for this clothing closet is to have an actual site to set up the closet in retail fashion to allow student's the privacy to "shop for free" by appointment and who have been referred by a teacher/school administrator, social worker, SRO, clergy, Guardian ad Litem, etc. This would allow any student referred the opportunity to select 5 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, 5 underwear and 5 pairs of socks. Included in this "retail clothes closet" would be backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items and nutritional snacks for students registering later in the school year and/or who have run out of supplies.
Our philosophy has always been to give away everything that is donated to us. We have been blessed by many, to receive many beautiful articles of clothing; often times, with the price tags still attached. Although we try to provide clothing for all ages of children, we strongly emphasize the clothing needs toward teens; specifically boys; as they seem to be the hardest to provide for on a continued basis.
Donate Clothing
Typically, we do not accept clothing donations during the summer months; as space availability is reserved for the back to school supplies. However, once backpacks and school supplies are distributed; the clothing closet opens once again.
Once the clothing closet finds a permanent location, we will begin accepting clothing items all year round.
